OpenOffice Writer: similar to Microsft Word

OpenOffice Calc: similar to Microsft Excel

OpenOffice Impress: similar to Microsft Powerpoint

OpenOffice Base: similar to Microsft Access

Getting Started with OpenOffice

Launching OpenOffice for the first time (You will notice the welcome screen)

Please follow the steps (as shown below):

Click Next:

Continue Click “Scroll Down”, until you scroll the entire page -> Click Accept

Please Enter First Name: Vesta,Inc.

Check the Option for “Check for updates automatically”

Select option: I do not want to register

Writer - Saving to compatible Word Document:

Go to File -> Save as -> Enter the file Name
Save as type -> Change “OpenDocument Text(.odt)” to
Click Save

Calc – Saving to compatible excel Document:

Go to File -> Save as -> Enter the file Name
Save as type -> Change “OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.odts)” to
Click Save
